Groups may join on either a "Full Board" membership basis or on an "Affiliate" membership basis.
Full Board Membership
- Must pay a one-time fee of $800 to join
- Must provide a signed resolution which states that they agree to the OBC bylaws
- Entitles entity to full voting rights on all benefit issues
- Entity elects one representative to the Board of Members and receives one vote
- Provides access to negotiated rates for medical and all other benefits
- Required to remain with the OBC for at least three years if in the OBC Pool; required to remain at least 2 years if in the OBC Purchasing Cooperative
- Jurisdiction must be located in defined OBC territory
Affiliate Membership
- Must pay a one-time fee of $75 to join
- Affiliate members have no voting rights
- Provides access to negotiated rates for Dental, Life, AD&D, and dependent life only (no medical)
- There is no tenure requirement
- Jurisdictions in the Life pool must reside within the State of Ohio
Participation in the OBC Medical Pool or Purchase Cooperative arrangement is subject to approval by the OBC Membership Committee.
